Cartwright, LaShawn

LaShawn Cartwright, Senior Recruitment Consultant at Chick-fil-A, talks to a group of high school students about career planning. She advises students to discover what it is that they enjoy and use that discovery on their journey to obtaining their dream job. She then explains the variety of career opportunities at Chick-fil-A. She spoke at part of Liz Lieberman's Grady Talks program at Grady High School in Atlanta.

LaShawn Cartwright has been employed with Chick-fil-A for over ten years.  Her current role involves leading the implementation of creative sourcing and recruitment strategies to attract top tier talent.

LaShawn began her professional career at Indiana Vocational Technical College (Ivy Tech).  She was responsible for the school’s diversity recruitment program.

After serving in higher education for seven year, LaShawn transitioned into the private sector with Lincoln Financial Group.  LaShawn directed the company’s college relations and diversity recruitment efforts. 

LaShawn received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Ball State University in 1988 and her Professional in Human Resources designation in 1998.  

LaShawn is an active member of Higher Living Christian Church.  She is also involved with the following organizations -

The Multicultural Foodservice and Hospitality Association,

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, National Association of African Americans in Human Resources, Society of Human Resources Management Professionals, and the Atlanta Diversity Affinity Managers Group.

LaShawn is happily married and the proud parent of two children.
