Lawrence Toner began his career in television in 1987 at WSAV- TV in Savannah, Georgia after attending the Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.  His work at WSAV, the NBC affiliate in Savannah began as a News Editor and worked his way through several positions including Videographer and Producer before becoming the Manager of Production for the station. 

Toner ran the production department at the NBC affiliate until 1993 when he accepted a position as a Producer-Director for Firearms Training Systems, an Atlanta based interactive simulation developer to domestic and international militaries and law enforcement agencies.

After extensive travel throughout Europe and Asia producing military training senarios for several government ministries he accepted a position as Manager of Production Services and Executive Producer for Artisan Pictureworks, a full service production and post production facility based in Atlanta.  There, he continued to utilize his production/post production background to produce a variety of content for both corporate and broadcast clients.

In 2000 Toner turned his attention to Turner Studios, the production arm of Turner Broadcasting.  There he accepted the position of Director of Project Services for the newly formed facility and in 2003 was promoted to Senior Director of Operations and Project Services.  In this position he oversaw a management group that was responsible for a 25 person staff that facilitated scheduling and logistics, media traffic management, client service initiatives, project management and executive producing.  In 2007 Toner was promoted to Vice President, to lead the Operations, Project Services, and Original Productions units for Studios and presently represents these groups in Turner Studios Leadership Team.
