International Educator

Suzanne (Suzy) Blough has been actively involved in the field of International Education and Exchange for more than 25 years. She has studied, lived, worked and traveled throughout the world, and is well-versed in every facet of immigration law as it pertains to academia and employment.  As the former Director of the International Center at the University of California, Irvine, and the Permanent Residence Specialist at The Georgia Institute of Technology, Suzy has successfully counseled thousands of international students, scholars, faculty, researchers, medical professionals and accompanying family members.  She has also worked with international and domestic students at the University of New Hampshire, the University of Georgia, and on Semester At Sea, a floating university/study abroad program that travels around the world, and is the world's leading program in global comparative education.

In addition to her work as an immigration consultant, Suzy is currently assisting two former Lost Boys of Sudan with a documentary project highlighting their 1,000 mile journey by foot from their village in Southern Sudan to Ethiopia and Kenya, and their efforts to raise funds to build schools and health care facilities in their home country. She is also writing a novel about her friend, Debbie, and her journey following the death of her husband, as she lived and traveled with her young son, Nico, in Ireland, Japan, Thailand, Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia.

Suzy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory University and her Master of Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Georgia.

In her spare time, Suzy enjoys participating in triathlons with her "tri-ath-a-mom" friends, yoga, skiing, travel, community service, and would love to take a stab at stand-up comedy some day!  Suzy has been happily married to Doug, a professor at GA Tech, for almost 20 years.  They have two teenage daughters, Sara and Stephanie, and a lazy, lovable mutt, Goldie!
